Message from our CEO

The islands of Japan, where we live, is a beautiful country with a long north-south axis, surrounded by the sea on all sides, majestic mountains and nature-rich rivers, and with four distinct seasons.
The richness of the natural environment provides us with a peaceful and enriched space in which to live.
On the other hand, it also has a severe side of seasonal weather disasters, with floods and mudslides caused by heavy rain during the rainy season, typhoons from summer to autumn and heavy snowfalls in winter.
In addition, Japan has four rock plates beneath the country, and earthquakes occur frequently.
Other weather phenomena such as tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, lightning strikes and avalanches also cause damage in various areas of Japan, depending on their location, topography, geology and climate.
In response to such weather-related disasters, and sometimes to huge disasters that affect a wide area, we, Japan Meteorological Corporation, work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year as an "Earth Communication Provider," paying attention to changes in the sky, sea, and land to protect people's precious lives and valuable assets.
We also actively address global climate change and energy issues, promoting a society that makes use of natural energy, and contributing to the global environment and safety and security of the society.
We look forward to your continued support and collaborations in the future.
